Kate Davis is a bassist, violinist and jazz singer based in Portland, OR. Her classical credentials include serving as principal second violin, and principal bass in the Portland Youth Philharmonic. In jazz she recently won a spot in the Gibson/Baldwin GRAMMY combo for bass, as well as a spot in NFAA’s jazz combo. She was also selected to participate in the Brubeck Jazz Colony in 2007 and 2008.
She plays regularly in the Portland area with Ron Steen, Tom Grant, Dan Gaynor, Steve Christoffersen and many other NW jazz luminaries. In addition to jazz, she plays violin in chamber music groups for the PYP and private functions.
